W6QAR-1 APRS IGATE - San Diego, CA

The W6QAR-1 IGATE is provided as an APRS service by the Qualcomm Amateur Radio Club. The site is well located to support APRS traffic in metropolitan San Diego. The equipment was originally installed by W9IF and run as W9IF-7 from 2002 to early 2010. When the Qualcomm Amateur Radio club was established, the station was reassigned as W6QAR-1 and became operation in April of 2010. The equipment includes a Kantronics KPC-3 Plus TNC firmware version 8.3 and an Alinco DR-150 2 meter transceiver.
